Our Story

We founded The Music Nest because we wanted children to experience the joy of performing and creating music with others. While over two-thirds of children in the UK play an instrument, sadly only around 18% ever have the chance to perform in front of an audience.

We saw this as a missed opportunity - not just musically, but personally. Performing with others builds confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging that lasts far beyond the classroom.

The Music Nest was created to change that - to give every child the chance to grow as a musician, collaborate with their peers, and discover the excitement of sharing their music with the world.

Meet Our Musicians

At The Music Nest, our teachers are not just educators - they are accomplished, professional musicians with extensive experience performing, teaching, and inspiring young talent.

Our team brings together specialists in strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, piano, and voice, many of whom perform regularly in orchestras, ensembles, and on international stages. Alongside their professional careers, they are passionate educators who understand how to nurture confidence, discipline, and creativity in young musicians.

Every member of our team is DBS-checked, safeguarding trained, and committed to creating a supportive and inspiring environment where children can thrive musically.

We believe that learning from working musicians gives students not only technical guidance, but real insight into the artistry and joy of performing at the highest level.
